Hornall Anderson – Seattle, WA

December 2007 to June 2013

Title: Senior Designer

My job entailed the design of a range of materials, much of it for pack­aging as well as corporate branding assignments, several of which have been global in scope. I served as the creative lead on many projects with duties including leading creative teams, presenting work both internally and to clients, mentoring junior designers, on-set photoshoot art direction and the creation of original illustrations.

I collaborated closely with other team members (strategists, client service managers, creative directors, writers) to achieve consistently high-quality work that delivered on its strategic objectives.

In the fall of 2011, I had the good fortune to move to London and for three months worked from Hornall Anderson’s UK office.

Clients included: Pepsi, Starbucks, Frito-Lay, Quaker Oats, HTC, Tropicana, PayPal, Microsoft, T-Mobile and 3M.


The Garrigan Lyman Group – Seattle, WA

August 2004 to October 2007

Title: Senior Designer

My responsibilities included the design and implementation of a range of digital marketing, mobile media and printed materials. Duties included direct client contact, presenting of creative work both internally and externally as well as art directing and mentoring junior designers.

Clients included: Microsoft, T-Mobile, Verizon, Umpqua Bank, Polaris Industries, Regence BlueShield, Safeco, Medical Teams International and The U.S. Army.


Radar Design – Seattle, WA

August 1994 to August 2004

Title: Owner

I operated my own freelance business and was responsible for all aspects of its function; everything from design and production to marketing and billing. A decade of self-employment provided me with a valuable and holistic perspective on the business of design.

Clients included: Virginia Mason Medical Center, Microsoft, Nintendo, Raleigh Bicycles, Holland America, Bastyr University and Ebbets Field Flannels.

In addition to my duties with Radar Design, I also owned and operated StockBucket, an online stock illustration, photography and font resource.


Phinney Bischoff – Seattle, WA

March 1993 to August 1994

Title: Senior Designer

My job entailed the design and production of a range of materials including annual reports, capability brochures, identity systems, advertising and wayfinding signage. Additional responsibilities involved the supervision and coordination of production artists and illustrators, the assembling of printing estimates and on-site press checks.

Clients included: R.E.I., Microsoft, Intiman Theatre, TacoTime Restaurants, Preston Gates & Ellis and Callison Architects.


Becker Design Associates – Seattle, WA

March 1990 to March 1993

Title: Designer

My job entailed the design and production of a range of materials including advertising, in-store displays, sportswear graphics, clothing catalogs, building signage and package design.

Clients included: Safeco, Seattle Design Center, Baden Sports, Professional Bull Riders Association and Washington State Liquor Control Board.


Werkhaus Design – Seattle, WA

September 1988 to March 1990

Title: Designer

My job entailed the design and production of a range of materials primarily relating to fashion/sportswear and events marketing. 

Clients included: Nike, Rainier Brewing Co., Seafair, Eddie Bauer, Unionbay Sportswear, Roffe and NW Federal Credit Union.

In addition to my duties at Werkhaus Design, I also maintained several of my own freelance clients.

Graduated with an Associate of Art Degree in graphic design. Courses included extensive instruction in design composition, production art and printing techniques.
